Annual Charity Auction
On Saturday 5th December, Bushby First National Real Estate held its annual Christmas Party & Annual Charity Auction, at Fluid Bar & Restaurant, at the Launceston Seaport.
In 2005 management and staff conceived the idea to raise funds at the company’s Christmas party, with all funds raised being redirected back into the community. That year saw $3800 raised. Since 2005 the bar has been raised each year to the point where our expectations for this year of $10,000 were exceeded by raising $13,900. We chose to donate $6,400 to the Kmart Wishing Tree. The Kmart Wishing Tree, in conjunction with the Salvation Army, enables people to donate a present for underprivileged children. This donation of $6,400 bought 282 presents for children, from across many age brackets.
The Salvation Army will open their doors to families, to enable them to choose a gift for their child rather than the Salvation Army allocating a gift to a child.
We also chose to donate $5,000 to The Examiner Empty Stocking Appeal, $2,000 to Launceston City Mission and $500 to Salvation Army for swags for the homeless. In difficult financial times many organisations curtail their support for charitable groups, but at Bushby First National we find that these are the times when our support is most needed and we will continue our passion for serving Launceston and its city’s people.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the following organisations for their generosity & support:
Luxe Hairdressing, Gunns Timber & Hardware, Harvey Norman, Telstra Business Centre, Star Bar, Billabong Hotel, Rae & Partners, Cellarbrations at Jimmys Liquor, A.B.E.L. Landscape Supplies, The Examiner, EL Conveyancing, Joes Place for Hair, Launceston Cleaning Service, Southern Cross TV, Country Club Resort, Pino Tedeschi, K-Mart, Me Wah Restaurant, The Northern Club, Woolston Printing, Duggan & Parker, Cradle Mountain Chateau, Daryl Taylor, Fluid Bar & Restaurant, Jill Jak, Chris Atwell, Debbie Heron & Nouveau Visage
